• Hi, new member here.

Recently bought 2006 crossfire blaze red coupe automatic. I notice my shift indicator letters don't work. Any ideas?

When first bought i had tech do a transmission service on it. I'm pretty shure it didn't work before. Just learning more about the car.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Gerry,

welcome to the Chrysler Crossfire Forum.

Just to make shure we talk about the same thing: you mean the indicator letters in the instrument cluster, right?

Can be a lot of things. The instrument cluster itself, the wiring harness of the instrument cluster, the shift lever module and so on.

Any software mods that have been done to the ECU or the TCU?

Did you check the cars DTCs (errors) with a DRB3 diagnostic tester?

  • Hi,

correct, the shift letters P for park N for neutral D for drive the letters next to the clock.

I bought the car a few months ago. I did have the transmission serviced, fluid and filter change when i first got it – along with oil, fresh plugs & wires.

I can't recall if it worked when i bought it. Don't remember. I'm still learning about the car and i'm very happy with it. 2006 blaze red coupe.

    Thank you

  • Hi,

OK, well as said above there can be different causes for the malfunction. At least a bad instrument cluster.

A transmission service in general could cause that problem, if there got something wrong with the transmission plug. But this should also DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) to show up. So first step should be an error code diagnosis with a Chrysler DRB3 tester.
