Hello fellow members,
I am new to this forum and i would like to introduce myself. My name is Stefan and I recently bought a Crossfire and she's a beautie (check the pics).
My previous car was an Hyundai Coupe GK, so I guess it's a big leap upwards. The reason why I got rid of my Coupe is actually a funny story. I bought the car with only 1 key and remote.
On a hot summer day I decided to visit my brother, who lives 150 Km away. It was quite hot so I decided to take my bike for a spin, it's a Kawasaki ZX10r 2007. All geared up and ready to go, only needed to get the gift I bought for my brother out of the car. I was reaching critical temperature in my full leather armor, so I decided to store my car key in my backpack along with the gift.
Approximately one hour later I reached my destination and took my gear off. I said hi to my brother and opened a my backpack only to discover it was completely empty. Apparently I took the wrong backpack, I accidentally took my hicking backpack and discovered It doesn't withstands 300+ Km/h speeds.
I lost my carkey and remote to so I ordered a new set at Hyundai. The new set was gonna cost me € 750,-, but then there was this issue. The key and fob needed to be programmed and they need to have car at the garage to do so. The car towing and reprogramming totaled the cost to a ridiculous € 1.570,-.
I was pretty fed up with Hyundai and decided to loose the car only to discover that selling a car that can't be started or towed is pretty hard and it affects the price enormous. I sold the car for a lousy € 750,- later seeing the car being sold for € 4.750,- by the garage which bought it of me. Well that's life I guess.
I'm not sorry for way this happened, because now I'm the pride owner of a black Crossfire Base Coupe 2007. The first owner was a 60 year old lady, the second was a 76 year old man and I'm the third proud owner. It has a millage of 67.000 Km and I'm in love with it.
I really like forums, sharing you're experiences with each other and learning from these experiences. Today I changed to steering damper, this was long due, my car was tramling heavely. I also discovered some rust underneath the door weathering, I'm gonna adres that this weekend. Nothing major as my car spend most of it's life in a warm garage, but better to adress this straight away.
I'm already thinking about swapping the throttle body to a 74 mm, adding a needswing dual cold air intake and reprogramming the ECU after that, just for fun. But all in due time, so much to discover before that on this lovely forum. So thanks for having me and i hope to learn so much of you're experiences and vice versa.
Cheers,
Stefan
